International Association of Museum Facility Administrators membership offers invaluable professional benefits for its hundreds of facility managers of archives, libraries, museums and other cultural institutions (and their service providers). Join IAMFA, and give your career a boost!
Annual IAMFA Conferences – Exchange ideas and learn about latest technologies at IAMFA conferences where your peers gather annually. For the past twenty-three years, your fellow facility/property professionals have been meeting at various cities throughout the world. You’ll be impressed with excellent training, site tours and networking opportunities. A fabulous Guest Program runs parallel with the professional agenda so many delegates choose to bring along friends or family members.
Papyrus Magazine – Once you read your first issue of this full-colour, glossy magazine, you’ll look forward to each subsequent issuance. Published by IAMFA, the periodical includes articles contributed by members and others with specialized, pertinent expertise. Articles focus on improvements implemented at member facilities and developments at archives, libraries and museums. Authors create an awareness of their accomplishments with their colleagues at work and at other cultural facilities, and become a catalyst for others achieving similar benefits at their own facility.
Benchmarking Exercise – Participate in optional annual benchmarking exercises and you’ll identify opportunities for improving your operations. You’ll get proven, practical takeaways that can be implemented right away. Participants receive IAMFA's energy label, which rates their institution regarding improvements in sustainability.
IAMFA Regional Chapters – In many regions across the globe, you can join intimate chapter groups where you’ll find opportunities for networking, sharing first-hand experiences and problem solving.
Earn Continuing Education Units – Your participation at the IAMFA Annual Conference could qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) necessary to fulfill requirements for professional accreditations such as professional engineering licensure.
Network with Your Peers – As a member of IAMFA, you will communicate with members and others engaged in operations at cultural institutions on IAMFA’s LinkedIn group. You’ll have privileges to invite colleagues to join the LinkedIn group, which adds new networking opportunities for everyone. Ask questions on LinkedIn and you’ll get answers – we’re a sharing group.
Job Postings – View or post job and internship openings on NewIAMFA.org and IAMFA's LinkedIn group sites.
George Preston Memorial Award – This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the mission of IAMFA, or to general facilities management at cultural institutions.
Lifetime Achievement Award – This award is generally bestowed on members of IAMFA who are close to retirement and have outstanding career achievements or contributions to the mission of IAMFA. Applicants must have retained IAMFA membership for at least five consecutive years. The award comes with lifetime IAMFA membership.
IAMFA Diplomat Award – This award recognizes an IAMFA Corporate Member for their outstanding contributions to IAMFA's mission, and their support of IAMFA.
