Welcome to Washington, DC! We have lots to show IAMFA!
When Washington, DC last hosted the conference, delegates were treated to tremendous tours and educational programs, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, the National Museum of the American Indian, and the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, to name a few. This time around an entirely new program, with tours of state-of-the art, historic, and, on at least one day, downright “wild” facilities, have been carefully curated to delight and inspire conference delegates and their guests.
Among the fabulous facilities that will be toured during the conference are the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Library of Congress’s James Madison Memorial Building, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National Museum of American History, and the National Zoological Park. Substantial educational programs will take place on-site at these different tour locations, adding rich context to each program. A wonderful guest program is also being arranged in parallel with the conference program, and it includes opportunities for guests to see incredible local attractions and take their own behind-the-scenes look at special DC hotspots.
The impressive Gaylord National Resort, located on the Potomac River in National Harbor, Maryland, will serve as the hotel and staging area for the 2013 Conference. The Hotel's address is 201 Waterfront Street, National Harbor, Maryland, 20745.
The room rate is $229 and includes a $15 resort fee. The taxes are 16%, and are not included in the $229 rate. The hotel rate begins on Saturday, October 19, and ends Thursday, October 24. The group rate will apply 3 days prior to the room block (October 16), and following the room block (October 27) based on availability. Please click here for more details on amenities offered by the hotel, and details on how to reserve your room for the conference.
You can also register for the 23rd IAMFA Conference by visiting the Online Payment Page. Please note that there will be an optional pre-conference day and post-conference day of activites that you will also need to add to your shopping bag if you wish to attend these days.
If you have any questions about the Conference, or Member or Guest Program, please contact Tiffany Myers at [email protected].

Many thanks go to the amazing Washington, D.C. Conference Planning Team for putting on a wonderful
23rd IAMFA Annual Conference! This year's conference had record attendance, and was planned amidst a
government shutdown which meant that the conference organizers had to arrange alternate venues for
each day of the conference just in case the shutdown continued beyond the scheduled start of the
conference. The IAMFA Board of Directors speak for all IAMFA members when we express our sincere
gratitude for all the hard work the organizing team put forth planning one of the best IAMFA conferences
in our organization's history. Please come back and visit again soon for pictures from the conference, and
soon we will be posting preliminary plans for next year's 24th IAMFA Conference in Scotland, UK.
